DIY String Art

When we were opening the free people store one of the first things I admired was the yarn sign behind our cash wrap. I wanted to recreate it at home on a smaller scale and couldn’t believe how easy it was.

What you’ll need:

Yarn
A piece of wood
Hammer
Nails
Stencil
Tape

Step one:

The first step is picking a font you like and printing out either a letter or the word you want to make. Then simply cut it out and tape it down to the piece of wood.

Step two:

Next just hammer the nails around the stencil until you’ve covered it all.

Step three:

Once the nails are in place simply wrap yarn around the nails until you get the desired coverage.

Tie the yarn off in a knot and then you’re done!

This DIY is super easy and can be hung on a wall or placed on a self to liven up any room.
