I love having smoothies and it’s been a while since I’ve made them but with spring and summer around the corner I though this would be a good time to share my favorite recipe with you guys that I’m finally starting to have more often.

^^Today I had my smoothie with my moms famous blueberry muffin, such a great combo! ^^

I love adding spinach to my smoothies because it’s a great way to get added nutrients and I promise you can’t even taste it! I know a lot of people associate green drinks with bitterness but this is anything but!

1 cup frozen pineapple chunks

1 cup frozen mango chunks

1 to 2 cups frozen spinach

1 medium ripe banana, peeled, and cut up

1 cup strawberries, or any other berries you prefer

1 cup milk (cow’s, almond, soy, coconut, etc.)

sweetener, to taste (sugar, agave, stevia, honey, maple syrup, Medjool dates)

  • Simply add all the ingredients into a blender and mix until silky smooth. It took me about 5 mins of blending to get it to the consistency I like.
  • Don’t be afraid to add more milk as you go, mine needed about another ¼ cup

  • This recipe makes enough for two so if you’re making it for yourself you can either half the recipe or save the second portion by putting it in a zip lock freezer bag and freezing until the next day.

A great way to save time in making this is to pre measure the fruits and spinach and put them in individual zip lock bags. This way all you have to do is put the contents of the bag in the blender, add milk, and mix! I hope you guys enjoyed this super simple recipe and if you try it out let me know if you like it 🙂

  1. Yum! I’m going to try bagging up smoothie ingredients this week. My husband and I are always rushing around on mornings we decide to have smoothies, so prepping on the weekend is a great idea. Thanks for sharing 🙂

That muffin looks delish, by the way…

  2. Does the frozen spinach leave the smoothie gritty? I made one using my nutribullet with fresh raw spinach and some fruits, but I couldn’t even drink it because of the gritty texture from the spinach. Just wondering if frozen spinach gives the same result?!

    1. Not at all! It was gritty the first few times I checked on it but I found that after a few more mins of blending on the liquefy mode it was perfect! And for reference I use a standard kitchenaid mixer 🙂

  3. In your picture with the honey, at first glance I thought it was an egg! Had to double check your ingredient list.. I love that you use frozen spinach, it’s probably cheaper that way and aldo keeps the drink colder. I’ll definitely have to try that.
