Lazy Girls Guide to Contouring

Lately I have been loving Clinique cosmetics, and every time I go into Sephora I see a new product from them that I want to try out. This time it was the chubby contour and highlight sticks. I love how precise the placement is with them and how I am able to build up the color from medium to very deep depending on the look I am going for.

I have tried using these with the classic three options, my fingers, a beauty blender, and a thicker kabuki brush and my favorite method for blending is the kabuki style brush, specifically my real techniques buffer brush. I found that the beauty blender wasn’t able to blend in the product enough and left it looking very unnatural. The kabuki brush allowed me to seamlessly blend in the product giving me an almost air brush like finish that looked quite natural wish is what I absolutely loved about this product. Because this product is matte and a little warm toned it keeps you from looking muddy and brings a bit of warmth to you face without making you look like an oompa loompah

I love the pink undertone that the highlighter has because I have found that it works best with my skin tone, but since everyone isn’t in the same boat as me I do this it would have been nice if they offered it in a second more gold tone. I apply this before my foundation on my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose, and on top of my lip and then apply my foundation as normal. I find that by doing this it makes me look as through i’m glowing from within. If I feel like I need a little more highlighter I apply it to my fingers and blend in.I finish up my look with blush and eye makeup and then I’m ready for a night out!

I love these chubby sticks and find it to be the easiest most foolproof way to contour! Let me know if you have tried these and your thoughts on them/ if you would give them a try in the comments below!
