Nightly Skincare Routine [ Alfa Girl Makeup Remover Review]

One of the most important things I learnt from my teens is the importance of taking care of my skin. I always struggled with acne when I was younger, and I thought the solution was to just slather my skin in makeup and cover it all up. What I didn’t realize was how important it was to take off my makeup at night with the right products, so today I’m sharing my nightly skincare routine!

I always start off my skincare routine by thoroughly taking off my makeup. By the end of the day I’m typically so tired that taking off my makeup the is the last thing I want to do, but I know how important it is so I get my ass out of bed and do it. In the past I would have used a makeup removing wipe but I’ve found that they can be very abrasive and hard on my skin. A natural alternative I heard about was coconut oil and I liked it but I found that because my skin was problematic it ended up making it worse. Coconut oil is highly comedogenic, which basically means it tends to cause blackheads by blocking the pores of the skin, so if you’re acne-prone, it’s not a good option.  I recently started using the Alfa Girl Get Naked makeup remover and have been loving it! I then go in with my Burts Bees creamy face wash on my Clairsonic Mia 2 brush, and finish up with Bioderma Millicer water, and Clinique gel moisturizer.

I was so excited when I found Alfa Girl Get Naked makeup remover because they use natural products and it’s free of silicone, oil, parabens and it comes with a reusable wipe for each day of the week keeping it sanitary. In combination with the makeup remover formula and the custom cloth they send I was able to remove all of my makeup including my Bourjois Twist up The Volume mascara (which I absolutely love but it’s harder to get off than any waterproof mascara I’ve worn and it’s not even waterproof). Whenever I use a makeup remover I always go in with my Bioderma water to remove leftover makeup before washing my face but I am happy to report that there was no makeup left over when using Alfa Girl! I think that my favorite part about this company besides their great products is that they are a subscription service. I know I will never have to worry about buying makeup remover when I run out because it will get sent to me at the beginning of the month. I literally have no excuses to not take care of my skin!

I love that once I started talking care of my skin I started to feel more confident. I no longer feel the need to wear makeup every day like I did when I was younger. In fact, I only wear makeup on the weekends and the 1 day a week when I go into the office. Finding a routine and products that work for you when you’re in your teens and twenties is the key to having great skin when you get older. I can’t tell you the amount of family members that tell me they wish they took better care of their skin when it mattered most. I took their recommendations to heart and I hope this inspires you guys to start taking better care of your skin too.IMG_2571.JPG

^ To use Alfa Girl Get Naked apply a small amount of product onto the cloth thats provided with your kit, lather it in the cloth until foamy, and then wipe off your makeup like you would with a makeup removing wipe.
