Happy national sour candy day! Sour candies have always been a favourite treat of mine so I was so excited when Sour Punch reached out to me for this holiday! I used their candies as a garnish, and to add a sweet and sour kick to my classic lime margarita recipe and I think it’s a perfect and fun summer drink. Sour Punch was also kind enough offer one of my readers a prize pack that includes of a ton of Sour Punch candies and goodies such as a backpack, sunglasses, tumbler, and a waterproof phone case!

1oz triple sec
3/4 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
Agave nectar to taste
Sour candy garnish
Optional: salt from sour candies to rim the glass.
1. If you would like salt-rimmed glasses, begin by running a lime slice (the juicy part) around the top rim of a glass. Fill a shallow bowl with sour candy salt, and dip the rim in the salt until it is covered with your desired amount of salt.
2. Add tequila, lime juice and Triple Sec to a cocktail shaker, and shake or stir until combined.
3. Taste test! Add as much or as little agave nectar as you feel is necessary.
4. Fill glass with ice. Pour in the margarita mixture over the rocks. Add Sour Punch garnish, serve immediately, and enjoy!
