I feel like every year the summer goes by faster and faster. It seems like once May comes around summer is already over and this year feels no different. I can’t believe that it’s already the end of July and that I’m doing this write up. This month was pretty crazy for me with work events, friends and families weddings, and my birthday. Normally I don’t like to do much for my birthday but this year I wanted to do something a little special so I’m planning a dinner and then night out a new spot downtown.

Anyways, onto the update!

Favorite Meals: Not much has changed in this department, as I’m a creature of habit. One thing that I’ve really been loving is shredded beef in the slow cooker. It’s so easy to make and you don’t have to worry at all about it. Just fry it up in the pan first to brown it and then add it to the crockpot

Reading: Where did you go Bernadette. I love how our book club has got me back into reading! This month we read where did you go Bernadette. This was a super quick and easy read that was perfect for the beach. Definitely worth checking out before the movie comes out mid August!

Eyeing Up: Ipad Air – OK so I actually just pulled the trigger and bought this this month. I’ve only had it for a short while and I love it!!! It’s perfect for easily adding graphics and photos into my blog posts, creating collages and text, and of course watching Netflix. I also got the Apple pencil and highly recommend. I think I’ll do a 5 things about my favorite apps!

Wearing on Repeat: Biker shorts. I know that these honestly do not even look good on me, but I can’t stop wearing them lol. They are really comfy and a way better alternative to jean shorts in the summer. I like wearing them under really oversized or long shirts with either slides or sneakers. Going to buy a few more pairs for the rotation, sorry not sorry boyfriend!

On my Face: I rediscovered the physician’s formula Butter Bronzer recently and have totally fallen back in love with it. I have also been using the Huda beauty topaz pallet and it’s been the only thing I’ve used on my eyes each time I go out. It’s really natural and pretty and I’ve really been loving it for summer (especially the yellow shade!).

Listening to: I haven’t been listening to any specific playlists lately or podcasts really. Just the usual records that are on repeat (abba, Elton jon, etc) but the one song I can’t stop listening to or have to blast in the car is White Horse by Tenille Townes.

Watching: Big Little Lies season 2. I couldn’t believe how much this show made me hate Mery Streep but that just shows what an amazing actress she is. Mary Louise is a brutal character and I loved the layer of stress she added to the show. I can’t believe that this might be the final season because if you’ve also seen the finale then you’re like me and dying to know what happens next.

I have also been watching Big Brother. I’m not a huge fan of the cast this year, they all kind of have a bully mentality and are quite frankly playing the game terribly but there are a few people I’m rooting for. I really love cliff and Nicole and think they are the cutest little duo and hope they can take it far this summer.

Working out: I mentioned last month (and find a way to bring up in every since post) that I was looking to get back into working out and I’m really happy that I stuck to this goal! I wanted to work out every day before my birthday but with weddings, and summer weekends I didn’t make it every single day. BUT I made it most days, if not every Monday – Friday and I’m super proud of that. Going to try and keep up the daily workouts for the rest of the summer, so we will see how this goes!

Wishing I was better at: For august I want to be better at staying off my phone. I’ll admit that I’m addicted and always have the stupid thing in my hand. For the month of august, I want to be better at leaving it in another room or at least just not having it glued to my hand.

I’m happy to report that I actually improved on my “wishing I was better at” from last month! I talked about how I wanted to be better at waking up early and I really accomplished that this month. Most of my workouts were done at 6 or 7 am and I really have loved what it’s done for my day, and I’m surprised I was able to accomplish this!
