Even though I feel like I have barely had a summer, things have actually been so crazy the past few months! I started a new role at work, celebrated my birthday, anniversary, took a trip to Portland and so much more. It’s been crazy but fun and I’m excited to get into fall and a back to a more consistent blogging schedule. Check out below for my August roundup.
Favorite Meals: I’ll be honest and say that I’ve been eating like total crap the past month and a bit lol I’m trying to get on the healthy train but it’s definitely not easy. I have thoroughly been enjoying pretzels and beer and anything else delicious you can think of. But last night I made pan grilled chicken with Alfredo sauce, peas, sundried tomatoes, and broccoli and it was sooo good. I have a feeling this will definitely be a favorite as I get back into Keto.
Reading: This month I finished Mr. Penumbras 24 Hour Book Store by Robin Sloan and it was a fun and easy read! Definitely unlike anything I’ve read as an adult so it was fun to mix it up a bit. I’m currently working on finishing Conviction, by Denise Mana for our club! Keep and eye out for a list of what we read in the first 6 months of book club coming in a few weeks!
Eyeing Up: THIS Artizia jacket. It’s not really a jacket, not really a flannel but somewhere in the middle and just think it’s so gorgeous for fall. A simple elevated basic that I know I’d get a lot of wear out of, but the price just seems so hefty for what it is. I’ll be on the lookout for a similar style elsewhere and will let you know if i find anything.
Wearing on Repeat: Topshop Trousers – I got these and these form Nordstrom a few months ago and have been loving them and wearing them a ton over the last while! I feel like they’re going to be a great to transition into fall and I wear them casually or dressed up.
On my Face: Cloud paint combo in Storm and Beam. I mixed these because they are my favourite summer and fall colors and I am so obsessed with how the combo turned out. This has risen to the top as my favorite glossier combo and I’ll be wearing it all season.
Listening to: T swift’s new album Lover. I’ve been a fan on Taylor Swift since her first album, so even if I don’t think I’m going to like the album, I always try and give it a chance. I wasn’t really crazy about any of the singles she was releasing and didn’t have high hopes or Lover, but I gotta say there are a few gems in there. Some of my favorites are the album track, Lover, and The Man.
Watching: 13 reasons why season 3. I like that this season they are finally moving on from the Hanna story line. I think that her season and story is so important, but wasn’t crazy about how forced it was in season 2. Season 3 obviously references it a lot, but is focused on the development and changes that the rest of the characters are going through.
Mind Hunter – I also completely binged Mind Hunter the past week and can’t stop recommending it to people. I find it so fascinating to see the development of profiling cereal killers, and how there wasn’t even a department for them at one point in time. It is suuuuuch a good show and I think everyone should cancel their plans this weekend to watch it.
Working out: Another month another 30 days of spin and Pilates. I’ve really been trying to focus on taking more Pilates classes when I can because I love that it’s a full body workout. Its low impact but you really feel it the next few days which I love. I try and get in 2 Pilates classes a week and 3 spin classes. I really want to try some classes on a reformer but they are so expensive and there aren’t really studios around me that offer it. Also still looking into F45 and will be trying it out this month. I think this is what I need to do to see some serious changes in my body and want to push out of my comfort zone to try it.
