Today i’m sharing a review of the 2 hotels that we stayed at when we visted London lat year. We stayed at 2 hotels that were on total opposite ends of the spectrum. One was a cute budget hotel in Hackney, and the other was the Ace, a well known chic hotel in the heart of Shorditch. I loved both places and depending on your budget I would highly recommend either! Scroll to the bottom to see a list of other places on my radar!

In Shoreditch we stayed at the Ace Hotel. Pricey, yes. Worth every single penny, YES.First of all this  hotel is beautiful. It’s minimalist and modern yet warm and inviting at the same time. We stayed in a deluxe double suite and it was perfect. There was plenty of room for all of our things, a big couch that spanned the far side of the room and the amenities were unparalleled. Events happening every night, most of which are free, great restaurant and coffee shop on site, and every room came with a “Survival Guide”. I honestly wish i took this with me. It was a complete guide to London. what to do, what to see, the best markets, etc. Luckily for you guys, I made note and most of the things were on my list anyways.

Think of this as the Ace’s baby sister. Everything about this hotel is tiny. The elevator to get up could barely fit two people and their luggage and the Double Room we stayed in was just big enough for our bed and luggage. But it was perfect. It’s a minimalist backpacker es budget hotel, that didn’t feel like a budget hotel at all. It was right beside Hackney Central, but not once did the noise of the station bother me. It was so incredibly convenient for us since the tube was our main and pretty much only mode of transportation while in London. The staff was great and gave us great recommendations and tips, and the front desk doubled as a cafe where their staff could whip you up anything you wanted for free. It was the perfect way to start our morning. My one and only complaint about this hotel, is that there wasn’t much to do close to us. There was a handful of pubs and spots to eat, but plenty of fast food options. Luckily for us, this was just a spot to rest our heads so we really didn’t mind.

Other hotels to consider:

The Hoxton Hotel

Leman Locke

The Curtian Hotel * would totally stay here in the summer!

Megaro Hotel
